hello, just wondered if anyone could tell me when the Lancashire Professional Bowling Association changed to its present name. The reason I ask is that I have a large bronze plaque and am seeking information about where it may have come from. It reads as follows: THIS COT WAS ENDOWED BY THE LANCASHIRE PROFESSIONAL BOWLS ASSOCIATION 1925. Perhaps the Red Lion Hotel? Any information would be gratefully recieved. Thank you

Whilst my husband was licensee at the Hulton Arms, Four Lane Ends, Over Hulton, I found an old Bowling Tournament Card which had been under the floorboards until we had some restoration work done. It is dated Mon 29th Sept 1921 with a blank score dated Sat 1st October 1921. Would you like it? I can send it if you want or drop it in to the Red Lion opposite the old police station in Westhoughton. Regards,

Liz, that would be great if you could do that. The Red Lion would be fine , many thanks. Stewart.

Once again we approach our xmas h/c which attracts many top bowlers. For those which view the website but have never visited ,come down for a taste of the action. We have good facilities with food and drink and a good atmosphere with a good betting market. We have a staunch membership who support the association through thick and thin so if you have a spare afternoon come and see what we are all about.
