THE PANEL

The Panel was founded in late 1908, so has been in operation for almost 100 years and we will be celebrating next year as our centenary.

The Panel has it’s home at The Red Lion Bowling Green, Wigan Road, Westhoughton BL5 3RJ.

Games take place every weekday all year round and play commences at 1pm each day. The forthcoming fixtures can be found on the “Fixtures” page of our website.

Each day there is usually two 41up matches between players from the list of registered bowlers known as a panel. So now you see where the name comes from!

Spectators are always welcome and will enjoy some excellent bowling in what are usually very competitive matches and if you wish, you can have a wager on the outcome, even make both players winners if you are adept at betting. There is plenty of parking, seating around the green, shelter if required and a café where you can get hot drinks and a bite to eat if you are peckish.

Entrance is normally £2.50 for non-members and £2.00 if you are a member. However, on your first visit, be our guest and see if you enjoy The Panel.
